Thanks for everyone hanging in there during the current lab assistant contract negotiations. The
DMC is refusing to setup new contract negotiation dates. We have repeatedly requested new dates
to bargain, but the DMC has not responded to any of the requests. They are trying to aggravate the
situation by not bargaining, and pitting union members against each other and the local. They are
hoping on the lab assistants forgetting that they are the ones suffering economically...while upper
management is still taking big fat checks home to their families.
If you attend a church, synagogue, mosque, please have your clergy call Steve Hicks at
(734) 282-8850. We want the DMC to know that our community is not happy with the way DMC is
treating its employees. We are reaching out to other community leaders to have them assist in
applying pressure on the DMC to treat it's employees fairly.
Please stand strong with each other through this struggle with the DMC. We are fighting hard on
your behalf. DMC wants to freeze your pay and any chance of you getting ahead in the future while
they fill their pockets from your hard work. Ask the DMC if they are making a profit this year....the
answer is yes, and it is in the millions.
